Dr. Thi Nguyen
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Thi has been serving his native Austin community as an optometrist since 2013. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Texas in Austin and his Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Prior to joining Aperture Vision with his wife (Dr. Huong Theresa Nguyen), he opened his first clinic VISION + EYES in 2021. His special optometric interests include Orthrokeratology and Myopia Control . Dr. T gained valuable experience in primary care, specialty contact lenses, and laser procedures/minor lid surgeries working in other clinics in Austin and also during his externship rotations in Tahlequah, OK and Austin, TX. He has also worked in rural Cherokee Nation clinics treating and managing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and other eye diseases. In his free time, Dr. T enjoys the outdoors with his wife and kids. He’s a hobbyist woodworker, avid gamer (PCMR), and a fan of UT football and Houston sports.
Dr. Huong (Theresa) Nguyen
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Theresa was born and raised in Houston, TX but has been serving the Austin community as a licensed therapeutic optometrist since 2013. She received her B.F.A. from New York University in 2007 and her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2013. In addition, she completed externships and training in various clinical settings including Lyons Veterans Medical Center in central New Jersey, Casa de Amigos Medical Center & San Jose Medical Clinic in downtown Houston, as well as traveling with the UHCO Mobile Eye Institute to underserved communities and schools in the Houston suburbs. Prior to opening Aperture Vision with her husband (Dr. Thi Nguyen), she had been practicing in various eye clinics around Austin and surrounding suburbs. When Dr. Theresa is not giving eye exams, she is busy being a mom to her two young kids, Luna & Luke. On her free time, she enjoys making pottery, hiking, & being a foodie.

Routine Eye Exams
Our doctors will perform a thorough examination to check your vision, update glass prescriptions, and assess the health of your eye to screen for sight-threatening ocular conditions . Retinal imaging (Eidon Ultra-Widefield) is available as a more convenient option to dilation at our clinic.
